Wooferines Flyball Team

Absolut! is an 10 year old Australian Shepherd. She has her Onyx and is going for her FDGCH. Although she is eligible to race in the Veteran's Class, she is still a core dog for the Wooferines.   Flyball is only one of the many activities "Salut" excells in. She also competes in Agility. Absolut! is owned and loved by Aida Peterson.

Blast is a 8 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd. He is ranked #2 highest pointed mini-Aussie in NAFA today. Blast loves playing flyball. He is one of our most consistent dogs, and can run tirelessly in any position and on more than one team. Thank You, Denise Longfield of DreamHaven kennels in Embro Ontario for breeding Blast and letting him come to us.

 

Citron! is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd and he is Super-Fast!!  He has accumulated over 18,000 NAFA points and soon will have his Onyx! Way to go, Citron!  Citron is owned trained and handled by Aida Peterson.

 

....NEWS FLASH!!  Citron earned his Onyx at Front Runners Dexter tournament this past Dec.  and he is fast approching his FDGCH................

 

Electra is a 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She is Pivot's & Diva's mother and also Bounce's (Mighty Mutts) mother. When Electra is not racing, she enjoys bouncing off of beds, walls and sofas with as little contact of the floor as possible. That's how she got her nickname, "The Flea".

 

 

We fell in love with Electra on first sight. She is owned, trained and handled by our Captain, Ruth VanWert.

"Luna" is a white Border Collie who is completely and profoundly deaf. A lot of dogs born with this condition are put to sleep without ever having a chance at life because it is assumed that nobody wants a deaf dog. That isn't true, of course. It is a lot of work to find a willing home for a dog with such a handicap. Luna's owner not only was willing to take on the challenge of owning and training a deaf dog, she went looking for a deaf dog purposely. Luna was "wanted".

 Luna is approximately 2 and 1/2 years old. She was born in Idaho and came to Michigan through Utah by way of a wonderful group that helps place deaf dogs of all breeds into new "forever homes". Her flyball career is off and running with a very successful weekend starting in Vassar, MI at the 10th annual Ballistic's River Run Tournament.

Patches is a 6 year old Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix. Michelle tells us that she got Patches from a co-worker while she was living on a ranch in Colorado. Full of boundless energy, Patch loves flyball!

She also loves to run and fetch and hang out in the backyard with her housemates, Bastian and Fitz who are also mixed breeds and Michelle used Pet-Finder to locate and bring them home to Patch!

Pivot has been running now full time for about a year.  He is a fast little JRT who loves to sometime shop like his mom.  He is out  of Electra and littermate brother to Bounce on Mighty Mutts.  He is our outstanding height dog on our Multi Breed team.  We just clocked a 18.08 with him and took a 2nd place in Ionia.  We see great things ahead with this boy......

Botyne's Shimy is a Copper & Gidget daughter.  Owned and loved by our Captain, Ruth VanWert, she is showing great promise in her training! Shimy is fast approching her Onyx with less than 2000 points to go.  Shimy is our "anchor dog" on our Multi-Breed team and has been handled very well by our teammate Laura Walker.  Laura and Shimy make a great team, and I  truly appreciate the wonderful job she does with my little girl.   Last year with Shimy we recieved our 2 best times ever 18.01 and 18.08 on our Multi-Breed Team!  Thank you Shimy!  Well Done!

Strut is a GREAT  addition to our roster. She is Xtra's older sister and  niece to Blast but, she is full of energy and spunk. She loves running and jumping and tugging and never tires plying flyball.

She is a Princess who is just full of herself and is quite entertaining to watch. Look for her in the racing lanes. She sparkles with enthusiasm!

T as she is called has been running since Sep 2007.  Boy has she been a terrific addition to our team.  Our Multi-Breed team just clocked a 18.01 with T in the lead.  We see nothing but, greatness with Tanqueray in the line-up!!

Zima recently achieved her FDGCH award.  Zima is a wonderful dog and companion.  She brightens up every room she walks in......

News Flash!!!  Zima just recently made both the top 100 pointed Border Collies and also in the top 250 pointed dogs in Flyball!!  Way to go Zima!!
